What is a finesse minnow and why is it tied to forward-facing sonar?
A finesse minnow is a slim baitfish-shaped lure in the 60 to 110 mm band, fished on a light jig head or with a nose hook rather than cast and cranked at speed. Rapala states that the rise of forward-facing sonar gave the soft-plastic minnow rigged on a jig new life, because a bait the angler can see on screen has to be steered, held and shaken rather than simply cast.
In detail
The lure itself did not change much. The way it is presented did, and that is what the specification now has to reflect.
