Custom soft plastic lure manufacturing in China
We source soft plastic lures from verified Chinese factories, not from a catalog.
- Six sampled listings, US$0.20 to US$3.85 per piece, MOQ 50 to 1,000.
- Materials named in the records are PVC plastisol, TPE and printed bodies.
- Sampling runs 7 to 15 days on an existing mold, or 3 to 6 weeks when a new mold is cut.
Custom soft lures, made against your specification rather than picked from a shelf. This page states what our records support, and what is quoted per design.

Material choice: PVC plastisol or TPE
Both families appear in our records, and the choice is behavioral, not cosmetic.
PVC plastisol is the volume standard. Softness is set by the plasticiser ratio, and a cheap grade is soft out of the bag and changes after a summer in a car. Ask for UV stabiliser and the colour carrier, not just the shore hardness.
TPE (thermoplastic elastomer) is oil-free and does not react with other plastics the way PVC can, which is why some brands insist on keeping their TPE baits in their own packaging. Buoyancy must be checked at product level: a sinking TPE formulation exists, so "TPE floats" is not a rule.
For either material, the check that matters is in water, on the intended hook, at the intended temperature. A bare bait floating in a container tells you nothing about the finished rig.
Salt, scent and buoyancy
Salt is what sets the sink rate. More salt, higher specific gravity, faster fall. It is also the cheapest filler in the bait, so it is the first thing a copy reduces to hit a price. Specify salt content with a tolerance, not a description.
Scent is applied at the pack stage and should be tested in the actual retail packaging: resealing, leakage and staining are packaging questions before they are bait questions.
Colors and packaging
Colour is quoted per colourway: translucent, solid, laminate and glow finishes all price differently. The records carry printed bodies alongside plain, which is a finish decision, not a material one.
Packaging is part of the specification. A long tail folded into a short pouch is a different retail proposition from the same bait in a fitted tray. Ask for the bag film, the tray and the scent to be supplied together in the sample pack.
QC and compliance
Inspection is sample-based and compares against an approved sample with a date and revision number. The checks that matter for soft lures are dimensions, body consistency, obvious molding defects and the fit of the intended rig.
Compliance depends on destination market, and the market must be stated before the quotation. A lure for the EU and a lure for the US are not the same paperwork.
