How do I specify diving depth?
Name three things together: the depth range, the line diameter, and the retrieve conditions. Depth is a function of bill geometry, line diameter and speed, so a figure quoted without the other two cannot be compared with anything.
In detail
If a supplier gives you a single number, ask what line it was measured on.
The numbers behind this answer
| Field | Why it matters | Status in this sample |
|---|---|---|
| Diving depth and bill geometry | Bill length and angle set how deep the lure runs, and they are separate tooling from the body | One listing is described as deep-diving; no depth figure is quoted |
| Field | What it decides | What it changes in the order |
|---|---|---|
| Diving depth class | How deep the bait runs on a stated retrieve | The single field that defines the product; it is set by the lip and the weighting together |
