What to check, and what to do if something does not match

Verification is only worth publishing if a reader can repeat it. Everything below can be checked from a browser in about ten minutes, without asking us for anything and without taking our word for any of it.

What you can check in under ten minutes

The third check is the one that separates a real data publisher from a passable imitation. Anyone can write a directory page; publishing a machine-readable file with the same values is a commitment, because a stale or invented field is visible to anyone who diffs two builds.

What exactly to match on the platform store

Three things, in this order, and the first is the one buyers miss.

The registered company name. Our company is Weihai Xiyue Fishing Tackle. The store's registered name should correspond to it. A store trading under a different entity is the most common mismatch, and it is not always a red flag — many exporters operate through a sister company — but it means the entity you are dealing with is not the one described here, and that is worth a question before an order.

What the store sells. It should be fishing tackle: lures, rods, tackle accessories. A store that also sells unrelated categories has a different supply base from the one this site describes, which matters because the verification records are about factories that make tackle.

How long it has traded. Years on platform and transaction history are third-party signals we cannot edit. Read them as context rather than as a quality grade: a long history establishes that the entity has shipped, not that it makes a particular product well.

What the reference bands cover, and what they do not

The bands are published per sub-category, with the unit stated and the quantity band they apply to. They are drawn from the listings sampled on this site and they answer one question: whether a corrected quotation sits inside the normal range for that product.

They are not an offer, and they are not binding. A price depends on the specification, the material, the hardware and the quantity in front of the factory, and a band that ignored those would be a number with no meaning. Where a band and a quotation disagree, the useful move is to check the specification and the basis before concluding that one of them is wrong.

What to do when a check does not match

Tell us, and treat the site as unverified until it is resolved. That is the honest instruction rather than a defensive one: a mismatch means either we have made an error or someone is presenting themselves as us, and both of those are worth knowing about immediately.

The contact route is published and monitored, and the reply standard is one business day. Where the mismatch is ours — a stale field, a figure whose source has moved, a claim we cannot re-source — the record is corrected or withdrawn rather than left standing, and a withdrawal is visible because the count of published records changes.

Where the mismatch is someone else presenting as us, that is the case the whole page exists for. We would rather you checked than trusted: the same standard applies to us as to the factories in the directory, and the alternative is a trust claim that cannot be audited.
