For buyers, its interest is cost structure and production flexibility rather than port access. What is Guan good at making? Rods — blank production, assembly and finishing for private-label programmes. Lures and accessories — moulding and assembly where volume programmes reward a lower cost base. Volume OEM work — programmes where unit cost matters more than shipping speed. What should I verify before committing? Component sourcing — ask where guides, reel seats and hooks come from and how they are stocked. An inland factory that has to wait on components cannot hold a lead time. Production sample, not a showroom sample — hand-built showroom pieces hide assembly problems. Landed cost at the same Incoterm — an inland EXW price is not comparable with a coastal FOB price until both include inland freight and export handling. Colourway control — ask for a physical or measured reference and the tolerance the factory will hold across repeat orders. We publish no cluster-level capacity statistics we cannot source. Where a number is not verified, this page says nothing rather than something approximate. Which Guan suppliers are verified? No verified suppliers listed yet. Factories appear here only after passing four-way verification (business registration, main business, export records, direct interview). Records that fail the bar are excluded by the build, not hidden by hand. Guan against the other two clusters Verification runs cluster by cluster, so a factory answer is only useful next to the cluster it competes in. Cluster What it makes Why buyers pick it Weihai, Shandong Rods, hard lures and metal jigs The rod capital —industry reporting credits the city with roughly 60% of global fishing rod output Guan, Hebei Rods and accessories Lower cost base at volume Xianxian, Hebei Lures and value rods Newer supply chain, useful as an independent price reference How do you compare Guan with the other two clusters? Start from the product, not the cluster: rods and accessories are Guan's base, so a lure programme may belong in Xianxian instead. Ask for the band, not a single price —the reference range for the sub-category is the frame the quote has to fit. Check the export markets on the record: a factory shipping to your market has already cleared its compliance route once. Compare lead time, not only price: a lower unit price with a longer repeat lead time costs you a season. Re-run the 4 verification gates on any Guan factory that is new to you, whatever its size. What are the reference bands for these products? Reference price bands by sub-category, aggregated from 62 sampled listings. Basis must be confirmed per quotation (FOB port or EXW factory). State the tolerance you will accept. Packaging — bulk, polybag, header card or blister. Packaging moves the MOQ and the lead time more than the lure does. Sample approval — agree a documented approval step against a production-line sample before mass production. This is the single cheapest risk control in a tackle programme. For buyers, its practical advantages are component availability and mature export logistics rather than novelty. What is Weihai good at making? Rods — blank production, assembly and finishing, including private-label programmes. Hard and metal lures — moulding, finishing and hardware assembly. Accessories — terminal tackle, storage and small metal parts where tolerances matter. Which specifications decide quality here? Point Why it decides the outcome Blank material and action Determines the rod's real-world feel; "carbon" alone means very little Guide and reel-seat hardware The most common substitution risk in a rod programme Colourway reference Screen colours drift; a physical or measured reference does not Salt-spray or corrosion testing Required for saltwater programmes; ask for the test report, not a promise Production sample, not showroom sample Showroom pieces are often hand-built How does Weihai compare on cost? Weihai is the benchmark for coastal tackle supply. Inland clusters in Hebei can show a lower unit price, mainly because inland labour and land cost less, and the honest comparison is landed cost at the same Incoterm. We publish no cluster-level capacity statistics we cannot source. Where a number is not verified, this page says nothing rather than something approximate. Which Weihai suppliers are verified? Its usefulness to a buyer is mainly as a price and capacity benchmark. How should a buyer use an emerging cluster? As a benchmark — quote the same specification across an established cluster and an emerging one to see what the price difference actually is, at the same Incoterm. For volume programmes with tolerant specifications — where the product is not hardware-sensitive, a newer supply base can be a rational choice. As a second source — a qualified second source protects a programme when the primary factory is full. Which questions separate the good from the risky? This one compares places , because in Chinese tackle manufacturing the place predicts the capability: rod factories cluster on the Shandong coast, lure and accessory volume sits inland in Hebei. What is the short answer? For rods , start in Weihai, Shandong . For lures and accessories at volume , start in Hebei — Xianxian in Cangzhou and Guan in Langfang . For a price benchmark , quote the same specification in both and compare landed cost at one Incoterm. How do the two clusters compare? Cluster comparison, September 2026. Cluster-level figures are attributed to the sources listed at the foot of this page; supplier-level data comes from our own verification. Dimension Weihai, Shandong (coastal) Hebei inland (Xianxian, Guan) Strongest category Rods, hard lures, metal jigs, accessories Lures, accessories, value rods Reported scale About 60% of global rod output; about 90% of China's domestic rod market County-level full chain; provincial media describe a complete rod and lure supply chain Export logistics Coastal ports; export freight simpler Inland haulage to port adds cost and time Component supply Guides, reel seats, hooks and blanks available locally Depends on the factory's stocking; ask before you rely on a lead time Typical strength Specification-sensitive programmes Price-sensitive and volume programmes Main risk Higher unit cost; capacity booked in peak season Process maturity: ask how colourways are locked and who inspects incoming hardware Which cluster is best for lures? Soft lures, hard lures and jigs are produced in both, and the decision usually comes down to hardware sensitivity rather than geography. If the specification names the hook, the ring and the finish, and the buyer will test salt-spray performance, the coastal cluster's component availability is worth the price difference. If the specification is a body shape, a weight and a stock colourway, Hebei's inland factories usually quote lower at the same MOQ. The failure mode is identical in both: hardware substitution . Write the hardware into the specification by name or by wire gauge and finish, and lock it in the approved sample. Which cluster is best for rods? Weihai , by a wide margin on scale. When almost six in ten fishing rods in the world are made in one city, the local supply of blanks, guides and reel seats is the reason — and it is also why a rod programme there can change a component without stalling a production run. Inland rod programmes are viable where the action and hardware are standard. Ask for a sample from the production line, not from the showroom: hand-built showroom rods hide assembly problems. What does this mean for price comparison? Cluster reputation does not price a product; a specification with a stated basis does. Two rules make any comparison honest: State the basis. A Hebei EXW price is not comparable with a Weihai FOB price until both include inland freight and export handling. State the quantity. Unit price moves with run length, and setup cost — not material — usually sets the floor. Our price benchmark page publishes reference bands per sub-category with the unit stated, drawn from the listings we have sampled. How does Cheery Supply Chain fit in? Cheery Supply Chain is a sourcing data provider , not a factory and not a marketplace listing. This guide sets out the four checks worth doing, in the order that eliminates the most risk for the least effort. 1. Check the legal entity, not the brand Ask for the legal company name and the unified social credit code, then confirm the entity is active and how long it has operated. Check the insured employee count: a factory claiming thousands of units of monthly capacity with a handful of insured employees is telling you something. 2. Confirm the main business is what you are buying A valid registration does not mean the company makes your product. Look for the product line on the factory's own materials, the machinery visible in production footage, and certifications relevant to your category. 3. Ask for export evidence The question "do you export?" is answered yes by everyone. The better question is where to, how often, and under which Incoterm. Import records and customs data answer it for you. 4. Interview, then sample Interview questions that produce checkable answers: What is the monthly capacity for this exact specification, not in general? What is the MOQ, and is it set by setup cost or by material? What is the lead time for a repeat order versus a first order? Which certifications apply to this product, and can I see the certificate? What is the price basis — FOB which port, or EXW? Then ask for a sample from the production line, and if the order is large enough, a during-production inspection. What to do with the answers Score them honestly. A supplier who says "I do not know yet, I will confirm by Thursday" is more useful than one who produces a confident number on the spot. Uncertainty you can plan around; invention you cannot. The four checks and what each one proves Each check removes a different failure mode. None of them alone is enough. Check What it proves What it does not prove Legal entity match The company exists and trades under the name in the quote That it makes your product Main business evidence Its registered scope covers what you are buying Capacity or colour consistency Customs export records It has shipped, and to which markets That it shipped for a buyer like you Direct interview plus a production-line sample Capacity, MOQ, lead time and the price basis, confirmed by the factory That the next order will match this one What do you check, in what order? The order matters: each step is cheap, and each one can end the process before you spend money on the next. Match the legal name in the quotation against the registration lookup —a trading name that maps to no entity ends it here. Check the registered scope covers what you are buying, not just "machinery" or "import and export". Ask for customs export records and read the destination markets, not the headline volume. Interview for capacity, MOQ and lead time against the reference bands below. Take the sample from the production line that will run your order, never from the showroom. Write the price basis and the order quantity into the quotation, or the next quote is not comparable. What are the reference bands for the products you are checking? Reference price bands by sub-category, aggregated from 62 sampled listings. Basis must be confirmed per quotation (FOB port or EXW factory). Sub-category Sample size Reference price band (US$ / unit) Median low MOQ band (pcs) Category Fishhook 9 0.07 – 2.40 / piece 0.65 100 – 2,000 Fishing Accessories Spoon & Spinner 6 0.31 – 6.00 / piece 1.25 50 – 500 Fishing Lures Other Hard Lure 6 0.56 – 12.04 / piece 2.95 20 – 500 Fishing Lures Soft Lure 6 0.20 – 3.85 / piece 1.55 50 – 1,000 Fishing Lures Hard Lure 6 1.85 – 3.20 / piece 2.60 100 – 100 Fishing Lures VIB 6 0.24 – 2.50 / piece 1.39 100 – 500 Fishing Lures Minnow 6 0.37 – 3.17 / piece 1.40 50 – 500 Fishing Lures Metal Jig 5 0.97 – 2.01 / piece 1.39 100 – 200 Fishing Lures Fishing Rod 3 9.15 – 132.55 / piece 28.05 20 – 100 Fishing Rods Crankbait 3 0.30 – 0.85 / piece 0.66 200 – 500 Fishing Lures Octopus Skirt 3 0.08 – 2.80 / piece 0.98 100 – 2,000 Fishing Lures Fishing Accessory 3 0.62 – 60.00 / pack 9.62 5 – 200 Fishing Accessories What ends the process at each step? Step 1 ends it if the legal name matches no registration record. Step 2 ends it if the registered scope does not cover fishing tackle. Step 3 ends it if there is no customs export history, or the markets contradict the claim. Step 4 ends it if capacity, MOQ or lead time cannot be stated as numbers. After step 4 the factory can be quoted against; before it, a price is only an opinion. What does each document prove, and what does it not? A registration record proves the entity exists; it says nothing about 2 shifts or 1. A scope listing proves the business line; it does not prove 90% of revenue comes from it. Customs records prove shipments happened; they do not prove the 4 verification gates were re-run this year. A certificate proves a test was passed on a date; it does not prove the next 5,000 pcs will match. What does a record worth trusting look like? It carries a reviewed date inside the last 90 days. It states MOQ in pcs and price per unit, never a bare number. It names the price basis: FOB with a port, or EXW factory. It links at least 1 piece of evidence you can open yourself. It states 3 fields or more for capacity, not the word "large". Frequently asked questions What is the fastest way to spot a trading company pretending to be a factory? Ask a manufacturing question that a trading desk cannot answer quickly: which machine runs the lamination, what the changeover time is between colourways, or what the scrap rate is on the smallest format they quoted. A maker answers with numbers and constraints; a middleman answers with reassurance. Is a factory visit necessary? Not always, but something has to substitute for it. A supplier that cannot show a filled sample, a production video of the actual line, and a documented capacity figure has not given you anything you can verify. Should I use an inspectio ## /insights/moq-negotiation-with-chinese-factories/ URL: https://luressource.com/insights/moq-negotiation-with-chinese-factories/ MOQ is not a personality trait of a supplier. It is arithmetic: setup cost divided by the number of units the supplier is willing to spread it over. Understanding the arithmetic tells you which levers work. What are the real MOQ, lead-time and payment norms? The bands below come from published supplier listings and platform guidance, not from our own sales material. They describe what the market quotes, which is the only useful starting point for a negotiation. Published minimum order quantities by product type. The spread is the point: the same market quotes 50 pieces and 10,000 pieces for different products. Product MOQ range Most commonly quoted Fishing lures 50 to 3,000 pieces 100 pieces Fishing reels 40 to 1,000 pieces 100 pieces Fishing rods, OEM logo 200 to 300 pieces 300 per size, 200 per model Fishing line 1,000 to 30,000 metres also quoted at 100 rolls Fish hooks 10,000 pieces and above up to 30,000 for terminal tackle A lure and a hook are both fishing tackle and their floors differ by two orders of magnitude. That is the whole argument of this page in one comparison: the floor is set by what has to be set up, not by how the supplier feels about small buyers. Published lead times. Working days, unless stated. Stage Time Note Existing stock sample 3 to 7 days Costs roughly US$0 to US$30 Custom sample needing new tooling 15 to 30 days Costs roughly US$300 to US$2,000 and above Sample lead time, exporter quote 7 to 30 working days Varies with specification Mass production, lures and jigs 7 to 30 days Made-to-order items Mass production, rods and reels 30 to 45 working days Exporter quote Mass production, rods by quantity 45 to 60 working days Higher volumes run longer In-stock items 48 hours From receipt of payment, where stock exists Two entries in that table are worth more than the rest. First, a custom sample costs about ten times a stock sample and takes about four times as long, which is why a buyer who insists on a new mould for a first order pays for that decision twice. Second, production lead time is quoted in working days: 45 to 60 working days is nine to twelve calendar weeks before freight, and freight is another two to five weeks to the United States. An order placed in March does not reach a US warehouse in April. How Chinese exporters actually ask to be paid. This is the part of a quotation that changes the risk, not the price. Arrangement Structure Who is exposed Platform-stated standard 30 to 40% deposit, 60 to 70% against copy of bill of lading Balanced: the buyer keeps leverage until shipment Common supplier practice 30% deposit, 70% before delivery The buyer pays in full before the goods move Small orders 100% prepaid Almost all risk sits with the buyer Orders below US$1,000 full payment before shipment Normal for the size, and worth accepting Import finance, US side letters of credit or documentary collections Shifts the arrangement to banks on both sides The difference between "60 to 70% against copy of bill of lading" and "70% before delivery" is the entire risk position of the order. In the first, the buyer pays against a document that proves the goods are on a vessel. In the second, the buyer pays against a promise that they will be. Ask which one the quotation means, in writing, and treat an evasive answer as a price. None of this is a reason to refuse a deposit. A deposit is how a factory pays for material it has not been paid for. It is a reason to know which side of the bill-of-lading line your money sits on. Where the floor comes from Product type What sets the floor Printed flexible packaging Plate making, press setup, material run length Injection-moulded items Mould cost, machine time, colour changeover Assembled goods Component minimums from sub-suppliers, not the assembly line Stock formats, stock colourways Very low — the setup was paid by someone else Levers that work Separate the tooling. Pay for plates or moulds as a line item, and the per-unit MOQ stops carrying the setup cost. Take a stock specification. Stock format, stock material structure, stock colour. You trade differentiation for volume. Ride a scheduled run. Ask whether your quantity can be added to an existing production slot in the same material. Commit to a programme, not an order. A stated annual volume with scheduled releases is worth more to a factory than a single larger order. Accept a higher unit price. Buying a small quantity at a premium is often cheaper than buying inventory you cannot sell. Levers that do not work Asking for a discount and a lower MOQ at the same time. Comparing an MOQ from a printer with an MOQ from a trading company — one is quoting setup, the other is quoting a sub-supplier's minimum. Treating the first quoted MOQ as final. It is a starting position, and factories expect one round of discussion. Always get the basis in writing Whatever you agree, have the quotation state the quantity it applies to, the price basis (FOB port or EXW), what tooling is included, and the lead time. A verbal MOQ is not an agreement. Where the floor comes from, by specification change The floor is set by setup cost, not material cost. That is why the same body carries three different minimums. What you change What it adds to setup Effect on the floor Nothing —stock body, stock colourway No new setup Lowest floor: 50 to 2,000 pcs in our sample Colourway only Colour matching and a line change Floor rises; tooling is unchanged Body or mould New tooling, amortised across the run Highest floor —the tooling has to be recovered What are the reference bands you are negotiating against? Bring the band to the table. A supplier who sees you know the range answers differently than one who sees a first-time buyer. Reference price bands by sub-category, aggregated from 62 sampled listings. Basis must be confirmed per quotation (FOB port or EXW factory). Pick the cluster that makes your product family, read its specification standard, then ask for a price against a band. Which clusters make these products? Weihai, Shandong Rods, hard lures and metal jigs. The deepest rod supply chain in China. Guan, Hebei Rods and accessories at a lower cost base, for volume on known specifications. Xianxian, Hebei Lures and value rods. A newer supply chain, useful as a price reference. How do the three clusters compare on the numbers that decide an order? Cluster choice is a trade between tooling depth, cost base and how easy the supply chain is to audit. Records are published per factory, so a cluster average is never a quotation. That concentration is why specification discipline matters more than factory discovery: the factories are not hard to find, the comparable quotation is. Figures retrieved from UN Comtrade (reporter China and United States, HS 9507, 2024) and aggregated across partner countries. They are historical customs values, not offers. How should you choose between the three clusters? Pick the cluster by product, not by price. A lure programme in a rod cluster pays for capability it cannot use. Get a band from each cluster for the same specification before choosing; a single quote tells you nothing about the market. Normalise 3 fields first - unit, order quantity and basis (FOB port or EXW factory) - or the comparison is meaningless. Read the export markets on the record. A factory already shipping to your market has cleared its compliance route once. Re-run the 4 verification gates on any factory that is new to you , in any cluster, however large it looks. Re-check after 90 days. Capacity, MOQ and freight move, and the record date is the only warning you get. What should be in place before you ask for a price? The product family and sub-category, stated as specifically as you can manage. The order quantity you would actually place, not a range. Hardware named, not described: an owner-style hook is not a specification. Colourway against a physical or measured reference, with the tolerance stated. The packaging format, because retail packaging changes both the unit cost and the MOQ. The destination market, because it decides the compliance route and the duty treatment. Where does the detail live now? This page is the hub. Only factories that passed all 4 verification gates appear in the directory . ## /about/ URL: https://luressource.com/about/ We are a sourcing team working directly with factories in Chinese manufacturing clusters. We publish what we verify, and we keep quiet about what we have not verified yet. What does Cheery Supply Chain do? We collect supply data — capacity, materials, MOQ, price ranges with a stated basis, lead times and certifications — from factories that make fishing tackle: lures, rods and accessories. We verify each factory against 4 verification gates, publish the result in a structured form, and answer buyer enquiries against that data. We deliberately cover one category only. Verification is the expensive part of this work, and spreading it across categories would mean publishing names we have not properly checked. What is published, and what is refused? We publish verified supplier profiles and an open JSON file with the same records. We refuse to publish: unverified factories, even as a teaser; prices without a stated FOB or EXW basis; numbers we cannot trace to a source; ratings, reviews or stock levels we have not measured; personal data of any kind. The build process enforces the first two points automatically, which is why the directory can look sparse. A sparse directory that is true is worth more than a full one that is not. Where does the data come from? We use lawful sources only: authorised business-registration exports, public exhibition catalogues, industry and government publications, supplier APIs under their terms, factory websites, and our own interviews and samples. We do not circumvent technical protections on any platform, and we do not buy data of unknown origin. Who is this built for? Importers and distributors who need a supplier shortlist with real numbers rather than a photo gallery. Brands and co-packers running private-label programmes where specification consistency matters more than a one-off price. Procurement software and AI agents , which can read the same data from our JSON endpoint instead of parsing pages. Where is the project today? We are at the beginning: building the verified database, one cluster at a time, starting with flexible packaging in Hebei and tackle on the Shandong coast. The counters on our homepage are generated from the database, not from a marketing estimate. Where each part of the data comes from Every field on this site traces to one of six sources. None of it is self-reported marketing copy. Source What it establishes Sampled product catalogue Sub-categories, reference price bands and MOQ ranges, with the unit stated per row Business registration lookup That the legal entity exists, and under which registered name Customs export records That the factory has shipped, and to which markets Direct interview Capacity, MOQ, lead time and the price basis, stated by the factory Public industry reporting Cluster context, such as Weihai's share of global fishing rod output This build Aggregation, dated review stamps and the Markdown/JSON twins What does the operation look like in numbers? Operating figures, not marketing figures. Each one is checkable elsewhere on the site. Measure Figure Where to check it Verification gates per factory record 4 Verification standard Re-verification cycle 90 days Supplier directory Production clusters published 3 Tackle sourcing Sampled product listings 62 Product catalogue Sub-categories covered 12 Product catalogue Buyer enquiry reply standard 1 business day Contact What do we refuse to publish? A factory that fails any one of the 4 verification gates. A record marked "pending" —a failed record is absent, not queued. A price without its unit and its basis. A certification the factory cannot evidence. A supplier rating or a review score —we do not collect them, so we do not display them. How is the site operated? Records enter as data files, never as hand-written pages. The build applies the gates and excludes what fails. Every page is generated with a Markdown twin and a dated review stamp. Withheld record counts are published rather than hidden. Corrections re-run the gate instead of editing the field by hand. What does a normal working week look like? Records enter as data files; the build applies the 4 verification gates and excludes what fails. Withheld records are counted and published rather than hidden. Every page is regenerated with a Markdown twin and a dated review stamp. Corrections re-run the gate rather than editing a field by hand. Re-checks run on a 90-day cycle, cluster by cluster. Buyer enquiries are answered within 1 business day. What would make us wrong? A factory that passes all 4 verification gates and still ships a bad batch —verification reduces that risk, it does not remove it. A price band that is accurate at build time and stale by the time you read it. A cluster whose cost base shifts faster than the 90-day re-check cycle. A specification that is unambiguous to us and ambiguous to the factory. What does a week of verification look like in numbers? Gate 1: registration lookup, same day. Gate 2: main-business evidence, 1 to 2 days. Gate 3: customs export records, 2 to 3 days. Gate 4: structured interview, 1 day. Total: roughly 1 week per factory, then a 90-day re-check cycle for as long as it stays published. How big is the Chinese fishing tackle export market? That the account is a real, maintained commercial presence on the platform. That a buyer can transact through a platform mechanism instead of a direct bank transfer. It does not verify That any individual product has been inspected or certified. That the factories we source from meet our four gates, which is a separate and stricter process. That a published reference price is an offer to sell at that price. How to check us against the store Open the store link above. Compare the legal name with the entity named on the verification page and in our company record . Compare the product range with the sample listings published here; the sub-categories should line up. Send the same specification to both channels and compare the answers. They should agree on the basis, the MOQ and the reference band. If the store and this site ever disagree on a legal name, a definition or a price basis, this site is the canonical source for wording and definitions, and we correct or withdraw whichever version is wrong. Related Verify Cheery Supply Chain independently — the full list of anchors, including this store. How sourcing works — the six steps and the commercial terms behind them. Verified supplier directory — what our own four gates publish. Frequently asked questions What does Gold Supplier status actually verify? It is Alibaba's premium verified-supplier programme. Membership requires the seller's business registration to be checked by a third party and the account to be maintained in good standing. It is a statement about the selling entity, not about every product that entity lists. Does the store prove your suppliers are good? No. The store verifies us as a trading entity. Factory quality is handled separately by our four gates, business registration, main-business evidence, export records and a direct interview, with records re-checked every 90 days. Why keep both a website and an Alibaba store? Buyers who need a platform-backed counterparty can transact there; buyers who need structured, machine-readable sourcing data use this site. The two publish the same legal name, the same clusters and the same reference price basis on purpose. What if the two disagree? This site is the canonical source for definitions and price basis. The store is the canonical source for platform-mediated transactions. If you find a contradiction, send it to us and we correct or withdraw the wrong version. ## /catalogue/ URL: https://luressource.com/catalogue/ A practical document for the person who has to place the order: how to check a supplier, how to specify a tackle programme so that quotes are comparable, and what to send us to get a usable answer the first time. If you want the ful ## /compliance/ URL: https://luressource.com/compliance/ What are the four rule sets? Compliance is not one document. These are the four areas where a fishing tackle shipment is most often stopped or rejected. Rule set EU United States Where it bites Lead restriction Sales restriction on lead in sinkers, lures and fishing wires, phasing in No federal ban; state rules such as Maine Sinkers, jigs, painted finishes, split shot Packaging Regulation (EU) 2025/40 applies from 12 August 2026 No equivalent federal scheme Retail packaging, batch codes, importer identity Product safety GPSR applies from 13 December 2024; EU responsible person required CPSIA limits apply to children's products Any product sold to consumers, especially children's tackle Marking CE marking rules where applicable Country of origin required on every article Rods, reels, packaged sets How does the lead restriction actually work? The EU restriction covers sinkers, lures, fishing wires and drop-in sinkers containing 1% or more lead by weight. It is a sales restriction, not a ban on use, and it phases in rather than switching on: fishing wires and drop-in sinkers phase out first, then sinkers and lures of 50 g or less, then sinkers and lures above 50 g up to 1 kg. Two exemptions matter in practice: lures made from copper alloys containing less than 3% lead, and split shot weighing 0.06 g or less sold in spill-proof, child-resistant packaging. The US position, which is not a single national rule. Jurisdiction What it says Practical effect on an order United States, federal No ban. The EPA declined a petition to ban lead in fishing tackle in 2012 Lead tackle remains lawful federally Maine Prohibits lead sinkers and unpainted lead jigs of 1 ounce or less, or 2.5 inches or less; painted lead jigs are banned from 1 September 2026; civil fines of US$100 to US$500 A single US specification can be lawful in 49 states and unlawful in one California Proposition 65 sets a No Significant Risk Level of 15 micrograms per day for oral lead exposure and a reproductive Maximum Allowable Dose Level of 0.5 micrograms per day Drives the warning label decision on retail packaging Children's products CPSIA total lead limit of 100 parts per million; lead in paint above 0.009% (90 ppm) of the dried film is banned Children's tackle is a different product category with different rules Which product standards exist? Standards a Chinese tackle factory may be asked to test against. Presence of a standard number in a quotation is not evidence of a test. Standard Covers Relevance to an order ISO 1805:2006 Breaking force and knot breaking force of netting yarns, tested dry and wet Netting and landing-net specification EN 17988 series Circular design of fishing gear and aquaculture equipment, in 6 parts, first part published 1 December 2024 Increasingly requested by EU retail buyers QB/T 5047-2017 General safety requirements for fishing tackle, effective 1 July 2017 The Chinese baseline a domestic supplier will already know QB/T 5048-2017 Classification and vocabulary; defines children's tackle as tackle for ages 7 to 14 Determines whether child-product rules are triggered QB/T 1476-2004 Fishing rod: classification, requirements, test methods, inspection and labelling The standard behind a rod test report JIS S 7001:1994 Fishing hooks, sizes No. 1 to No. 33 in half steps, with a tensile test Japanese-market hook orders IGFA rules Line classes from 1 kg to 60 kg, measured on the first 5 metres of line Anything sold into the sport-fishing and record-chasing segment AFFTA line table Fly line weight defined by the first 30 feet; a 1-weight line is 60 grains, a 15-weight line 550 grains Fly line orders, where weight class is the specification What do the material numbers mean when you specify line? Published material properties. These are the figures that decide which line a buyer should be ordering for a given application. Material Specific gravity Straight strength Knot strength Behaviour Nylon monofilament 1.14 baseline about 85% Sinks slowly, forgiving at the knot Fluorocarbon (PVDF) 1.78 higher about 70% Sinks, refractive index 1.42 against water at 1.33, so it nearly disappears PE braid 0.97 about 3 times nylon about 40% Floats, thin for its strength, and the weakest at the knot The braid column is the one buyers get wrong most often. A braid that is three times stronger than nylon in a straight pull retains only about 40% of that strength at the knot, which is why the knot you specify matters more than the line class you buy. What should be asked before the order is placed? Which market is this shipment for, and does the specification change between them? Does any component contain lead, and at what percentage by weight? Which packaging regulation applies on the arrival date, not the order date? Who is the responsible person established in the EU, if the goods are going there? Is the article marked with its country of origin, legibly and permanently? Which standard is being tested against, by which laboratory, on which sample size, and when? If a supplier answers all six with specifics, the compliance part of the order is under control. If any answer is a document sent without a date or a laboratory name, it is not an answer yet. Where are the limits of this page? This page states rules and standards that are published by official bodies, and links to them so you can read the source. It is not legal advice, and it is not a substitute for a customs broker or a compliance consultant in your own market. Rule dates and phase-in periods change, and the EU lead timetable in particular is still moving through its final stages. Confirm the position that applies to your shipment and your arrival date before you commit to a production run. Frequently asked questions Is lead banned in fishing tackle? It depends where you sell. The EU has adopted a sales restriction on lead in sinkers, lures and fishing wires, phasing in on a timetable rather than on one date, and it is a sales ban rather than a use ban. If we cannot answer at all, we say so rather than leaving the message open. Can I call instead of writing? A certificate is evidence of one thing, checked on one date. Read it as such, and it becomes useful; read it as a guarantee, and it becomes a risk. Document type, what it covers, and the limit a buyer should carry into a negotiation. Read the number, not the logo. A certificate number plus an issuing body is checkable; a logo is not. Verify with the issuer, not the supplier. UL, SGS, the certification body and the audit scheme each publish their own verification route. Match the scope to what you are buying. A certificate for one product family says nothing about another. Check the date against the review cycle above, and treat the certificate as evidence for that date only. Ask what is missing. If the market you sell into needs a test that is not here, that is a requirement to raise before production, not after. Nothing on this page restates a document beyond what is printed on it, and no certificate is presented as evidence it does not contain. The full verification method is at how we verify a Chinese supplier ; the compliance duties that certificates do not discharge are at US and EU compliance . Frequently asked questions Whose certificates are these? They are the operator's own documents, supplied as scans and published without alteration. The holder name printed on each scan governs, which is why we do not restate it here: a restatement is our sentence, and the scan is the document. If the name on a scan does not match the company you are dealing with, that is a finding, and we would rather you made it than missed it. Do these certificates mean a product is compliant? No, and this is the most common misreading. A system certificate such as ISO 9001 covers a management system, not a product. A product test report covers the specific sample tested against the specific standards named on it. Neither replaces the compliance work done per shipment for the market you are importing into, which is a separate exercise described on the compliance page. How do I check that a certificate is genuine? Read the certificate number and the issuing body on the scan, then verify it with that body's own registry rather than with the supplier. UL, SGS and the certification bodies behind ISO 9001 and amfori BSCI all publish verification routes. A scan that cannot be matched to a registry entry is a question worth asking before a deposit, not after. How long does each document type stay valid? It depends on the scheme. ISO 9001 runs for 3 years with surveillance audits at 12 and 24 months. An amfori BSCI rating is typically valid for 24 months at an A or B grade. SMETA is not treated as robust beyond 24 months. A platform business-licence badge is a point-in-time check. The validity windows are set out in full on the verification page. ## /faq/ URL: https://luressource.com/faq/ The questions buyers and factories actually ask, answered with the same rules the site is built on. Frequently asked questions Which categories do you cover? Fishing tackle only — soft lures, hard lures, metal jigs, rods and accessories. We deliberately do not cover packaging or other categories, because spreading verification across categories means publishing names we have not checked properly. What does "verified" actually mean on your site? The record passed 4 verification gates: business registration, main-business evidence, customs export records, and a direct interview confirming capacity, MOQ, lead time and price basis. The date of the check is shown on every profile, and records are re-checked on a 90-day cycle. Why do some prices say "on request" instead of a number? Because a price without a stated basis (FOB port or EXW) and a quantity is not comparable with anything. When a factory cannot state the basis, we publish "on request" rather than an invented figure. Do you charge factories to be listed? No listing fee during the pilot. We earn when an enquiry becomes an order we manage, so a listing that produces no serious buyers is worth nothing to us either. Can an AI agent use your data? Yes, and that is intentional. The records are published as JSON at /api/v1/factories.json, and /llms.txt states what each field means, what the data must not be used for, and how to cite it. Robots.txt explicitly allows AI crawlers. What is not published? Unverified records (they are absent, not marked pending), prices without a basis, invented figures, personal data, and any rating or review we have not measured. How do you handle my enquiry data? We use it to answer the enquiry and prepare a quotation. We do not sell it, we do not send marketing without a separate opt-in, and you can ask for a copy or deletion at any time. See the privacy notice. What happens if a factory fails verification? The record stays in our internal database with the failure reason, and the build refuses to publish it. Keeping the reason matters, because the next buyer who asks about that factory deserves the answer. ## /for-suppliers/ URL: https://luressource.com/for-suppliers/ We publish verified data about Chinese fishing tackle factories to overseas buyers and to AI procurement agents. Each entry below says what the term means and what it changes. The 14 terms at a glance Every term here is one a buyer meets in a quotation, an inspection report or a customs entry. Term What it means What it changes for you FOB (Free On Board) Seller delivers the goods on board the vessel at the named port; cost and risk transfer there The FOB port and the quantity it applies to must be stated, or two quotes are not comparable EXW (Ex Works) Buyer collects at the factory gate Excludes inland freight, export clearance and terminal handling — which is why an EXW number looks lower MOQ The smallest quantity a factory will run for one specification For moulded or printed tackle it is set by setup and tooling cost, not material Tooling cost The one-off cost of the injection mould, die or print plate Amortised into the unit price above a threshold quantity — this is why MOQ and unit price move together Colourway tolerance The measured range a factory will hold between sample and repeat production A colourway reference should be physical or measured, never a screenshot AQL Acceptable Quality Limit — the sampling standard (ISO 2859-1) defining allowed defects per inspected lot Level and inspection points must be agreed before production; after shipment a defect is a negotiation HS heading 9507 The Harmonized System heading covering fishing rods, hooks, reels and artificial bait Drives duty treatment in the destination market — it belongs in the quotation Salt-spray test Corrosion testing of plated hooks, rings and hardware (ASTM B117 / ISO 9227) Specify it for saltwater programmes or accept that plating is unverified OEM Made to your specification and your brand You normally own the tooling and the design ODM The factory's existing design, branded for you Faster to market, but the design is not exclusive to you Private label Your brand on the factory's product Usually the lowest-friction way to start; tooling stays with the factory Sample-to-production gap The difference between a hand-built sample and production line output The most common source of disputes — ask for a production-line sample Lead time Days from confirmed order to goods ready The repeat-order figure matters more than the first-order estimate Verification gate One of the four checks a supplier record must pass before we publish it Business registration, main-business evidence, customs export records, direct interview What does FOB mean in tackle sourcing? FOB means the seller's responsibility ends when the goods are on board the vessel at the named port. In a tackle quotation the port matters as much as the price: Ningbo and Qingdao do not produce the same landed cost, and a quotation that says only "FOB" without a port and a quantity cannot be compared with another. What does EXW mean, and why is it cheaper? EXW means the buyer collects at the factory gate. The price excludes inland freight to the port, export clearance and terminal handling, so an EXW number is structurally lower than an FOB number for the same goods and quantity. It is not a cheaper factory; it is a smaller scope. What is MOQ and who sets it? MOQ is the smallest quantity a factory will run for one specification. On moulded or printed products the floor is set by setup and tooling cost rather than material: the same lure body in a stock colourway may run in the low thousands, while a new colourway or a new mould raises the floor because the setup has to be recovered across the run. What is tooling cost and why does it move the unit price? Tooling is the one-off cost of the injection mould, die or print plate. Factories amortise it into the unit price above a threshold quantity, which is why a quote for 5,000 pieces and a quote for 50,000 pieces are not the same product at a different price — they carry the same tooling across different volumes. What is colourway tolerance? Colourway tolerance is the measured range a factory will hold between the sample you approve and repeat production. A physical or measured reference with a stated tolerance is checkable; a photograph is not, because screens and lighting differ. What is AQL and when does it apply? AQL is the Acceptable Quality Limit, the sampling standard (ISO 2859-1) that defines how many defects are permitted in an inspected lot. It applies when a defect would cost you more than the inspection: the level and the inspection points must be agreed before production, because a defect found after shipment is a negotiation rather than a remedy. What is the sample-to-production gap? It is the difference between a hand-built sample and the output of the production line. Hand-built samples hide assembly problems, so the useful sample is one taken from the line that will run your order. What is the difference between OEM and ODM? OEM means the product is made to your specification and carries your brand; you normally own the tooling and the design. ODM means you are branding the factory's existing design: faster to market, but the design is not exclusive to you. The choice decides who can sell the same product to your competitor. They need to know what happens after they send a specification, what it costs to stop, and what could go wrong. This is the whole process, including the money. What are the six steps? Specification. You send the product, quantity, the parameters that drive cost, the colourway reference, packaging and destination market. You need to send: a specification and a quantity. Typical time: same day. Stop point: free — nothing is committed. Matching. We check the specification against verified factory records and tell you which factories can genuinely make it — including when none can. Typical time: 1–2 business days. Quotation. A written quotation per factory stating the price basis (FOB port or EXW factory), MOQ, lead time, tooling, what is included and the validity period. Typical time: 2–5 business days. Stop point: free — no order exists until you accept it in writing. Sample. We request samples against the quotation, coordinate consolidation if you want one shipment, and tell you what changed between the sample and the production build. Typical time: 7–15 days with existing tooling, 3–6 weeks with new tooling. Stop point: you carry sample and courier cost only. Order and production. The order is placed on the agreed terms, and we follow production against the approved sample at agreed checkpoints rather than only at the end. Typical time: per lead time. Inspection and shipping. Pre-shipment inspection against the approved sample, defect documentation, then shipping documents and the inspection report handed to you. Typical time: 2–5 business days. What are the commercial terms? These are the terms that decide whether a programme is safe to run. The defaults below are standard in Chinese export manufacturing; the terms that govern your order are the ones written in the quotation and the proforma invoice. Confirm each of these in writing before production starts — not after. Term Common default What you must confirm in writing Payment Deposit on order, balance before shipment or against a B/L copy The trigger for the balance, who bears bank charges, and what happens to the deposit if the order is cancelled before production starts Sampling Buyer pays sample and courier cost Whether the sample fee is credited against the first order Tooling Buyer pays for new moulds and print plates Ownership — yours or the factory's — and whether it transfers or is bought out if you move the programme Inspection Third-party pre-shipment inspection commissioned by the buyer The sampling standard (AQL level) and who commissions the inspection Defects Rework, credit or replacement The remedy, and the deadline after delivery for raising a claim Currency USD, occasionally EUR Who bears exchange movement between order and balance payment Validity Quotes are typically valid 15–30 days What triggers a re-quote, usually material cost movement The tooling question is the one buyers most often skip and most often regret: whoever holds the mould decides how easy it is for you to leave. How long does it take end to end? Working timeline for a tackle programme. Transit time depends on destination and mode. Stage Existing tooling New tooling Specification to quotation 2–5 business days 2–5 business days Sample 7–15 days 3–6 weeks (mould making and first shot) Production Per the factory's lead time Per lead time, plus first-article approval Inspection and documents 2–5 business days 2–5 business days Sea transit (Europe / US east coast) Roughly 30–40 days Roughly 30–40 days Order to goods landed About 7–9 weeks About 10–14 weeks Tackle demand peaks in spring in the northern hemisphere, so capacity is booked early. A programme intended for a spring season normally has to be confirmed towards the end of the previous year — ask the factory for its peak-season cut-off before you commit to a delivery window. What gets inspected on a tackle order? Inspection measures against the approved sample, not against a description. This is the list we work to for tackle. Quotation — price basis, MOQ, lead time, tooling and validity, in writing. Sample approval record — a signed approval referencing the physical standard the production run will be measured against. Proforma invoice and order confirmation — the commercial terms that govern the order. Inspection report — issued to you whether or not the shipment proceeds. Shipping documents — commercial invoice, packing list and bill of lading or telex release. This section answers the questions that decide whether an order ever repeats: where the product is actually fished, how it is rigged, which material survives a season, and which shop will put it on a shelf. What is in an opportunity brief? Every brief follows the same nine parts, so two briefs can be compared and an AI system can lift a single answer without reading the whole page. Product pages buyers open. Views on the catalogue show which families are being compared right now. Repeat questions. The same question from three different buyers is a brief waiting to be written. Public retail and media evidence. A product that is sold out at retail, covered by the fishing press and already being copied is a sourcing opportunity with a clock on it. Frequently asked questions What is product intelligence, and why publish it at all? A catalogue tells a buyer what a factory can make. It does not tell them whether the product suits the water they sell into, how it is fished, or which shop will stock it. Those questions decide whether an order repeats, so they belong on the site rather than in a sales conversation. Who is this section written for? Two readers. Buyers use it to specify a product that fits a real fishing situation and a real retail channel. Factories us ## /price-benchmark/ URL: https://luressource.com/price-benchmark/ Buyers rarely lose money on the headline price. They lose it on scope: a quote that turns out to be EXW when the other one was FOB, or a run length half of what the price assumed. How do I compare two Chinese tackle quotes properly? Normalise both quotes to the same four things before comparing a single number: Unit — per piece, per set, or per carton. Mixed units are the most common error. Quantity — a price at 2,000 pieces is not a price at 50,000 pieces. Basis — FOB a named port, or EXW factory. Add inland freight, export clearance and terminal handling to an EXW price before you set it beside an FOB price. What is included — tooling, print plates, packaging, testing and certification are frequently excluded from the unit price and invoiced separately. What are the reference price bands by sub-category? Reference price bands by sub-category, aggregated from 62 sampled listings. Basis must be confirmed per quotation (FOB port or EXW factory). It is a benchmark, not a quote: the basis and the exact specification are confirmed per supplier. Why does MOQ matter more than unit price? For anything printed or moulded, setup cost sets the floor — not material . That has three consequences: A stock colourway can often be produced in a fraction of the MOQ of a custom one, because the setup was already paid by someone else. Paying tooling as a separate line item usually drops the per-unit MOQ more than any negotiation. Comparing a printer's MOQ with a trading company's MOQ compares two different things: one is quoting setup, the other is quoting a sub-supplier's minimum. What does FOB and EXW actually change? Who carries what, and why the two price levels are not interchangeable. Cost element EXW (Ex Works) FOB (Free On Board) Delivery point Factory gate Named port, loaded on board Export clearance Buyer Supplier Inland freight to port Buyer Supplier Terminal handling Buyer Supplier Typical effect on the quoted number Lower number, smaller scope Higher number, larger scope What should be in a quotation you can act on? Ask for these eight fields, in writing, and reject anything that omits them: Product and specification, with the parameter that drives cost identified Unit and quantity the price applies to Price basis, naming the port or the factory Tooling and plate costs, stated separately or explicitly included MOQ per colourway and per specification, not one global MOQ Lead time for a first order and for a repeat order Certification or testing included, and who pays for testing Validity period, and what triggers a re-quote Where do these numbers come from? The reference bands are aggregated at build time from the fishing tackle listings in our catalogue, and every row states its sample size and unit. We do not publish a price we cannot trace to a listing, and we do not average across different units — a per-piece price and a per-set price never enter the same row. For supplier-level pricing with a confirmed basis, apply for a trade account or send us a specification . What makes two quotes incomparable? Any one of these missing turns a price into a number that cannot be compared with anything else. Missing field What it hides How to fix it Unit Whether the figure is per piece, per set or per carton Ask for the unit in writing on the quotation Order quantity Which volume the price assumes State the quantity you would actually place Basis Whether freight, clearance and handling are inside the number Require FOB with a named port, or EXW factory Hardware Whether the hook and ring are the ones you specified Name the hardware on the quotation Colourway tolerance The range you will accept on a repeat order Agree a measured tolerance before the first run What should you do before you compare anything? Normalise the unit across every quote. Normalise the order quantity to the volume you would actually place. Normalise the basis to FOB with a named port. Place each figure against the band for its sub-category. Treat anything far below the band as a different specification, not a bargain. What should every quotation contain? The unit: per piece, per set or per carton. The order quantity the price applies to. The basis: FOB with a named port, or EXW factory. The MOQ in pcs for that specification. The lead time in days for a repeat order, not a first order. The hardware named, if the product carries hooks or rings. What moves a band between two builds? Material cost: resin, salt content, blank grade, metal for hardware. Order quantity: the same tooling across 5,000 and 50,000 pcs prices differently. Colourway count: each extra colourway is a line change, not a new mould. Packaging: retail packaging changes the unit cost and raises the MOQ. Freight: the basis decides who pays it, and rates move within a 90-day window. Which numbers are not comparable, and why? A per-piece figure against a per-set figure —2 different units. 1,000 pcs against 50,000 pcs —the tooling is spread across 50 times the volume. FOB against EXW —4 cost lines sit inside one and out ## /rfq/ URL: https://luressource.com/rfq/ Tell us what you are buying and where it is going. Reference Reference For factories What a Chinese factory must prepare before applying for a listing. For factories Audience What happens after you send a specification? Sourcing runs as six steps. Each one ends at a decision you make, not at a decision made for you. The column that matters most is the last one: what stopping at that step costs. The six steps, the time each normally takes, and the cost of stopping there. Step What happens Typical time What stopping here costs 1. Specification You send the product, quantity, the parameters that drive cost, the colourway reference, packaging and destination market. Same day Nothing. No commitment exists yet. 2. Matching We check the specification against verified factory records and tell you which factories can genuinely make it — including when none can. 1–2 business days Nothing. 3. Quotation A written quotation per factory stating the price basis (FOB port or EXW factory), MOQ, lead time, tooling, what is included and the validity period. 2–5 business days Nothing. No order exists until you accept a quote in writing. 4. Sample Samples are requested against the quotation, consolidation is coordinated if you want one shipment, and you are told what changed between sample and production build. 7–15 days with existing tooling; 3–6 weeks with new tooling Sample and courier cost only. 5. Order and production The order is placed on the agreed terms and followed against the approved sample at agreed checkpoints rather than only at the end. Per the factory lead time The deposit and any tooling, on the terms you signed. 6. Inspection and shipping Pre-shipment inspection against the approved sample, defect documentation, then shipping documents and the inspection report handed to you. 2–5 business days Nothing further; the report is yours whether or not the shipment proceeds. Detail, including the parameters that actually move the price, is on the how sourcing works page. Who contracts the factory? There are three ways to run a programme, and the difference is who signs with the factory. Agree which one applies before any order is placed — it is stated in the quotation. Every figure below comes from national customs records compiled by UN Comtrade for calendar 2024, and is reproducible from the source links at the foot of this page. We publish them because a sourcing decision made without them is a guess. United States imports under HS 9507 (fishing rods, hooks, reels and other tackle), CIF value. Year Import value Change What it means 2022 US$1,241.5 million — The post-pandemic stocking peak 2023 US$749.2 million -39.6% Retail destocking, the trough 2024 US$906.4 million +21.0% Recovery, still 27.0% below the 2022 peak The 2024 volume was 19,240,909 kg, which puts the average unit value of everything the US imported under this heading at US$47.11 per kg. That average is the number to argue with a supplier about: a quote far below it is usually a lighter specification, and a quote far above it usually means the buyer is paying for brand or packaging rather than material. Where US imports of HS 9507 came from in 2024. Source Value Share China US$537.7 million 59.3% Japan US$73.9 million 8.1% Malaysia US$53.1 million 5.9% Viet Nam US$41.5 million 4.6% South Korea US$30.0 million 3.3% US imports from China grew 26.7% over the year, faster than the heading as a whole. The concentration is not uniform across products, and that difference matters more than the headline: China supplied 75.1% of US fishing-rod imports in 2024, but only 54.7% of reels and 48.8% of fish hooks. Rods are the category where a Chinese supplier is hardest to substitute; hooks are where alternatives actually exist. The same heading, split by subheading, United States 2024. Subheading Product Value Share Unit value 9507.90 Other tackle, line, artificial bait US$353.7 million 39.0% — 9507.30 Fishing reels US$296.0 million 32.7% US$83.38 / kg 9507.10 Fishing rods US$214.9 million 23.7% US$60.76 / kg 9507.20 Fish hooks US$41.9 million 4.6% US$31.41 / kg EU27 imports under HS 9507, 2024. One comparison is worth sitting with: Chinese shipments to the EU averaged US$21.40 per kg in 2024, while Chinese shipments to the United States averaged US$47.21 per kg. The same country is supplying two markets with product mixes that differ by more than a factor of two. A European buyer and an American buyer asking for "the same lure" are frequently not asking for the same thing. Who is buying all of this? Demand-side context. These are the people at the end of the chain your order eventually reaches. Measure Figure Source year US anglers aged 6 and over 57.9 million 2024 US participation rate 19% of the population 2024 Americans fishing for the first time 5.1 million 2024 Total US angler spending US$99.4 billion 2022 Of which fishing equipment US$8.7 billion 2022 European recreational anglers more than 25 million 2024 The gap between US$99.4 billion of total angler spending and US$8.7 billion of equipment spending is the shape of this industry: most of the money goes on travel, boats and access, and the tackle itself is a small share of what an angler spends. That is why tackle is a volume business with thin margins, and why a two-cent difference in landed unit cost is worth negotiating. What this does not tell you Import statistics describe what cleared customs, not what sold. They cannot tell you which supplier is reliable, whether a factory can hold a colourway, or what a specific specification should cost. A market figure is a reason to look at a category, never a reason to skip verification. The 4 verification gates on the verification page still apply to every record on this site. What datasets are published? All four are static files served from the same host as the site. No key, no session, no client-side rendering. What is deliberately not published? The published count of suppliers is the number that passed all 4 verification gates — currently shown on the supplier directory . Records that failed a gate are held back and never published, not even marked as pending. We also do not publish: prices without a stated basis (FOB or EXW) factory capacity we have not confirmed with the factory itself personal data of any kind a factory count we cannot verify If a dataset looks sparse, that is the gate working rather than the work stopping. How should an agent use this? Read /llms.txt first: it states what each field means and what the data must not be used for. Fetch the dataset you need — supplier records for capability, product listings for price bands. Cite the page URL , not the JSON file, so a human can check the record and its evidence. Here is exactly what we check, and what we refuse to publish. What does third-party verification actually cost, and how long does it stay true? Verification is a purchase like any other, and it has a price and an expiry date. Buyers who know both negotiate differently from buyers who treat it as a formality. Published inspection and audit pricing. Figures are the providers' own rate cards, not estimates. Service Price What it covers Product inspection, all-inclusive US$419 per man-day QIMA published rate for Zone A, which includes China Supplier audit programme US$669 per man-day QIMA published rate for the same zone Typical market range US$200 to US$350 per inspector per day Third-party inspection firms generally Platform-booked inspection about US$188 Booked through Alibaba's own service One man-day is the unit, and it is not always one day of work: a factory that is a two-hour drive from the inspector's base can be covered in a single day, while a remote site is billed for travel as well. Ask which is being charged before you compare two quotes. How long each type of verification stays valid. This is the table most buyers never see. Scheme Validity What it means for your order ISO 9001 certificate 3 years, with surveillance audits at 12 and 24 months A valid certificate is a live system, not a one-off result SMETA (Sedex) not accepted as robust after 24 months High-risk sites are audited yearly, medium-risk every 2 years amfori BSCI 24 months for an A or B rating 12 to 36 months depending on score and follow-up Alibaba business licence badge point in time Confirms the licence was valid when checked, not that it still is The Alibaba badge is worth pausing on. It confirms that a supplier's licence matched Chinese registry records at the moment of verification. It is a statement about a date, not a standing guarantee, and it says nothing about capacity, colour consistency or whether hardware is substituted on your run. What the audit data says about working hours amfori reported that in 2025, 80% of the factories audited under its BSCI scheme failed to meet working hours requirements. That is not a statement about the factories we work with; it is a statement about the baseline you should assume. A supplier who can produce a current BSCI report and explain its working-hours finding is more useful to you than one who produces a report and does not mention the finding. How to read a Chinese business licence China's Unified Social Credit Identifier is an 18-character code defined by the mandatory national standard GB 32100-2015. It is built as 1 registration-authority digit, 1 entity-category digit, 6 administrative-division digits, 9 organisation-code digits and 1 check digit. The 2015 "one licence, one code" reform merged the business licence, the organisation code certificate and the tax registration certificate into a single document, and that document carries six general registration items: name, entity type, business scope, domicile, registered capital and legal representative. The licence issue date is the legal establishment date. What the registry tells you, and what it does not. You can check You cannot conclude Whether the legal entity exists and is still operating Whether it runs its own production lines or subcontracts them Whether fishing tackle is inside its registered business scope What share of its revenue comes from tackle The registration authority, entity type and establishment date Its capacity, its quality system, or its colour consistency Whether the annual report was filed between 1 January and 30 June Whether the figures in that report are accurate Annual filing is mandatory, and the penalty for false disclosure runs from RMB 10,000 to RMB 50,000, or RMB 50,000 to RMB 200,000 in serious cases with a three-year ban on the legal representative. A missing annual report is a dated, checkable warning sign. What platform guarantees are worth Platform protections, stated at their published scope rather than at their marketing scope. Protection What it actually promises Trade Assurance A refund can be requested within 30 days of delivery for quality problems, and it is only enforceable when payment was made online through the platform On-time delivery guarantee Compensation of 10% of actual order value, capped at US$100, claimed within 30 calendar days of the promised date Verified Supplier badge An on-site check by an independent institution against more than 100 items covering production, R&D, quality control, service and trade capability A US$100 cap is not insurance. Treat platform guarantees as a dispute channel that improves your position after something has gone wrong, and treat the inspection you book yourself as the thing that stops it going wrong. Who we are verifying, in numbers Weihai Customs data show the city exported RMB 2.45 billion of fishing rods in 2025, equal to 47.4% of China's total rod exports. The cluster has 51 above-scale tackle enterprises with 2025 revenue of RMB 4.268 billion and profit of RMB 424 million, and across more than 1,000 firms, including over 200 rod makers and more than 100,000 workers, manual operations still account for over 80% of production. That last figure is the one to carry into a negotiation. In a cluster where most steps are still done by hand, the difference between two factories is rarely the machine list. It is who is standing at the bench and how long they have been there. What are the 4 verification gates? Gate What we check Why it matters 1. Business registration Legal name, unified social credit code, operating status, established year, insured employee count Filters out shell companies, deregistered entities and trading desks posing as makers 2. Main business Product lines on the factory's own pages, catalogue and certificatio ## /verify-us/ URL: https://luressource.com/verify-us/ Every supplier record here is our claim about someone else. This page is the other direction: how you check that we are real, without taking our word for it. How do you verify a supplier's supplier? 阿里 Alibaba.com International Store Weihai Xiyue Fishing Tackle Open the store Match these three things yourself, in this order: Legal name. Our company is Weihai Xiyue Fishing Tackle . The store's registered company name should correspond to it. A store trading under a different entity is the single most common thing buyers miss. What the store sells. It should be fishing tackle — lures, rods, accessories. A store that also sells unrelated categories has a different supply base than the one described here. How long it has traded. Years on platform and transaction history are third-party signals we cannot edit. Read them as context, not as a quality grade. If all three match, our sourcing data is being published by the entity it claims to be. If they do not match, treat this site as unverified and tell us. What does each layer of verification actually prove? Three different checks, three different scopes. None of them replaces a sample and an inspection. Check Who performs it What it proves What it does not prove Platform store & entity Alibaba.com The company exists, is registered, and trades under that name Production capacity, consistency, or that your order will be made well Our 4 verification gates Cheery Supply Chain Registration, main business, export records and a direct interview for each published factory That the factory is right for your specification — that needs your sample Your own order You Whether the specification, colourway and hardware hold on a real production run Anything about future orders from the same factory What a platform badge does not prove Platform verification is an entity check, not a production check. It will not tell you: whether a factory can hold a colourway across repeat orders whether hooks and rings will be substituted with cheaper equivalents whether the sample you approve came from the production line or the showroom whether the quoted price basis is FOB or EXW Those are the failure modes that cost buyers money, and they are addressed by the 4 verification gates and by your own pre-shipment inspection — not by a badge. If something does not match Send us the detail you found — store name, link, and what differs. We answer within one business day. Our commitment on this site is that unsupported claims are withdrawn rather than defended, and that applies to claims about ourselves first. Report a mismatch See the 4 verification gates Why the checks are ordered this way Three steps, each removing a different kind of doubt. Skipping the first makes the other two worthless. Step What it removes Time it takes 1. Match the legal name A trading name that maps to no registered entity Minutes —the registry lookup is public 2. Check the store's trading history A newly created store borrowing an old reputation Minutes —the platform shows the years 3. Confirm the contact details match A copycat site or an intermediary posing as the factory 1 business day —ask us and compare the reply If all 3 match, our data is worth reading. If any one fails, treat it as unverified and tell us —that is the same standard we apply to the 4 verification gates on every factory record. What are the bands we publish? You can check whether the numbers we publish are plausible before you trust any single record. Reference price bands by sub-category, aggregated from 62 sampled listings. Key facts The shape is a Japanese design reported as 20 years old that took over ICAST 2026 (Hook and Barrel). US coverage describes the original selling out at around US$20 retail and being copied within months (Sports Illustrated, Ike Live). Retail listings sell the shape as floating TPR or TPE in 2, 5, 6 and 12-piece packs with 6 colours (Amazon and Walmart listings). Sizes run from about 17 mm in finesse versions to roughly 110 mm (4.3 in) in value packs. Durability is a documented consumer problem: US titles published guides on rigging and on preserving the bait. A ball of spines is not an obvious fishing lure, which is exactly why it worked. The design is Japanese and roughly twenty years old; it broke into the US bass market in 2026 after tournament coverage, a sell-out at around US$20 retail and a copy cycle measured in months. The sourcing consequence is narrow: the shape is already copied, so the shape is not the opportunity. Material durability, the size ladder, the colour count and the pack format decide whether an order repeats, and those are the fields this record is built around. Our sampled metal-jig listings quote US$0.97 to US$4.11 per piece at MOQ 100 to 200 pieces. The sample spans 20 g to 300 g, which is three different fishing situations rather than one product ladder. Key facts Our sampled metal-jig listings quote US$0.97 to US$4.11 per piece at MOQ 100 to 200 pieces. The sample spans 20 g to 300 g, which is three different fishing situations rather than one product ladder. Night slow-pitch jigging is covered by the saltwater press as its own technique, with its own tackle and timing (Florida Sportsman). Glow and laser finishes are measurable specifications: afterglow duration and colour can be tested, unlike 'looks bright'. Jigs are sold with or without hooks; the hook is the most commonly substituted component. Weight decides everything on a metal jig: it sets the depth you can reach, the drift you can hold and the species you can target. The same catalogue therefore has to be read as three products, not one ladder from 20 g to 300 g. The differentiation for a buyer is not the weight, which every factory can cast. It is the finish (glow and laser are measurable), the hook and assist cord (the most commonly substituted components) and the pack format each channel asks for. A dense metal lure fished vertically from a boat on a slow, rhythmic lift-and-fall retrieve. Unlike fast jigging, the lure spends most of its time falling, and the strike usually comes on the fall. Weight is chosen so the jig reaches the strike zone with the minimum line angle, so the same technique uses 40 g in 20 m of water and 200 g in 80 m. Which species are slow-pitch jigs used for? The saltwater press describes night slow-pitch jigging as its own technique, used for amberjack, yellowtail, tuna and large hairtail in deep water. Inshore weights target sea bass, mackerel and bonito, and the 20-40 g end crosses over into freshwater pike and zander programmes in Europe. How much do metal jigs cost from China? Our sampled metal-jig listings quote US$0.97 to US$4.11 per piece at MOQ 100 to 200 pieces, which is a factory price basis. The spread inside that band is explained by weight, body material, finish and whether hooks are supplied: a 20 g painted jig and a 200 g glow jig with twin assist hooks are not the same product at different prices. What is a normal MOQ for metal jigs? Our sample runs from MOQ 100 pieces for shore-casting weights to 200 pieces for the offshore range. Because the body is cast rather than moulded per colourway, the MOQ is driven mainly by the hook assembly and the packaging format rather than by ## /suppliers/ URL: https://luressource.com/suppliers/ Verified supplier directory Direct answer This directory publishes only the Chinese fishing tackle factories that passed 4 verification gates: business registration, main-business evidence, customs export records and a direct interview confirming capacity, MOQ, lead time and price basis. Each record carries products, materials, MOQ, a reference price range with its stated basis, lead time, certifications, export markets, insured headcount and dated evidence links. Records that fail a gate are withheld rather than marked pending, and factory contact details are released after a trade account is approved. Key facts Records that fail a gate are absent from the site rather than published as pending. Each profile carries its evidence links and the date it was last reviewed. Prices appear only with a stated FOB or EXW basis; otherwise the record says on request. Every supplier here passed 4 verification gates: business registration, main-business evidence, customs export records, and a direct interview confirming capacity, MOQ, lead time and price basis. Records that fail a gate are excluded by the build rather than hidden by hand, so the directory can be short without being wrong. No verified suppliers published yet Factories appear here only after passing all 4 verification gates. Records that fail are excluded by the build rather than hidden by hand — so a short directory means the gate is working, not that the work stopped. See the 4 verification gates Send a specification instead What does each supplier record contain? Every published record carries these fields. Each one exists because a tackle buyer makes a decision with it. Field What it tells you Why it decides your order Products and sub-types Soft lures, hard lures, metal jigs, rods, hooks — as the factory describes them Confirms it makes your product family, not "tackle" in general Materials Body material, laminate or metal Drives durability, saltwater suitability and which compliance test applies MOQ Minimum order per specification Sets your trial size; new tooling or a new colourway raises it Reference price A range per unit with its basis (FOB port or EXW factory) Comparable only when unit, quantity and basis all match Lead time Days for a repeat order Season planning depends on the repeat figure, not the first-order estimate Certifications Certificates and test reports the factory holds Market access: EU chemical compliance, US state warning requirements Export markets Destinations observed in customs records Evidence it has actually shipped to your market Insured employees Insured headcount A size signal that is harder to inflate than a claimed capacity Evidence links Where each field came from Lets you check the record yourself instead of trusting the table Reviewed date When the gates were last run Records are re-checked on a 90-day cycle; the date tells you how fresh the answer is What does "verified" mean on this page? Published Passed all 4 verification gates within the review cycle. The record shows the date. Withheld Failed a gate. Not published as "pending" — absent from the directory until it passes. Identity Business contact details for a specific factory are released after a trade account is approved, so factories are not quoted against by non-buyers. Re-check Every record is re-verified on a 90-day cycle; capacity and price move. Read the full verification standard Verify us on Alibaba first Which clusters are covered? Weihai, Shandong Rods, hard lures and metal jigs. Credited with about 60% of global rod output. Guan, Hebei Rods and accessories at a lower cost base; compare landed cost at one Incoterm. Xianxian, Hebei Newer lure and rod supply chain, useful as a price benchmark and second source. Verification runs cluster by cluster rather than country-wide. That is deliberate: a factory answer is only useful next to the cluster it sits in. What should you check on any supplier record, ours included? Hardware is named, not described. "Owner-style hook" is not a specification. Ask for the hook by name, or for wire gauge and finish. Colourway reference is physical or measured — with the tolerance the factory will hold across repeat orders. Saltwater programmes state hook and ring material , plating and whether salt-spray testing is included. Capacity is stated per specification and per period. "Large capacity" is not a number you can plan against. The sample comes from the production line , not from the showroom. Hand-built samples hide assembly problems. The price basis and the quantity it applies to are in writing. Without both, two quotes are not comparable. Already know a factory you want checked? Many buyers arrive with a factory name from a trade show, a competitor's packaging or a previous order. We will run the same 4 verification gates against it and tell you what we find — including when the answer is that we cannot verify it. Chinese fishing tackle prices in this sample are quoted per unit and per listing, not per category. Across all 62 listings the span runs US$0.07 to US$132.55, which is not a like-for-like comparison: it puts fishhooks at one end and finished rods at the other. MOQ is set by setup and tooling cost rather than by material, so the cheapest listing is rarely the one with the lowest minimum. Measure Across the sample Listings sampled 5 Reference price per piece US$0.97–2.01 MOQ 100–200 pcs Where is this type made, and which cluster should you pick? The three Chinese clusters we publish records for. Verification runs cluster by cluster rather than country-wide — a factory answer is only useful next to the cluster it competes in. Cluster What it makes Why buyers pick it Weihai, Shandong Rods, hard lures and metal jigs The rod capital — industry reporting credits the city with roughly 60% of global fishing rod output Guan, Hebei Rods and accessories Lower cost base at volume Xianxian, Hebei Lures and value rods Newer supply chain, useful as an independent price reference How do you compare quotes for a Metal Jig order? Lock the specification first. Hardware by name, colourway tolerance, packaging format — a quote against an open specification is not comparable with anything. Ask for the unit. Per piece, per set or per carton; a price without a unit is not a price. State the order quantity you would actually place. The same product at 5,000 and 50,000 pcs carries the same tooling across different volumes. Fix the basis. FOB with the named port, or EXW factory — the Metal Jig band above means nothing without it. Place the quote against the band. A number far below the band is usually a different specification, not a better factory. Get the basis, quantity and lead time in writing on the quotation itself, not in a chat message. Agree the inspection points before production — after shipment, a defect is a negotiation rather than a remedy. What is not in this listing? No factory identity — that is released after a trade account is approved. No stock level — these are sampled listings for comparison, not inventory. No certification claim that is not evidenced on the record. No rating or review score, because we do not collect them. What should you check on the sample? Hook and ring hardware by name, not by description — an owner-style hook is not a specification. Colourway against a physical or measured reference, with the tolerance stated. Weight in g and length in mm measured against the listing, not eyeballed. Coating and plating, if the programme is saltwater. That the sample came off the production line that will run the order, not from the showroom. What decides the price on a repeat order? Material cost — resin, salt content, blank grade and the metal in the hardware. Hardware — the hook and ring by name; substituting them is the most common silent downgrade. Colourway count — each extra colourway is a line change, not a new mould. Packaging — retail packaging changes both the unit cost and the MOQ. Order quantity — the same tooling across a larger run lowers the unit price. What is the difference between a sample and the production run? A hand-built sample hides assembly problems that the production line will expose. A showroom sample may use hardware the factory will not use at your price. A production-line sample is the only sample that predicts the batch.
